This work was inspired by an experience I had at a Taiwanese night market, where I ate pastries shaped like doves and guns.
The dove is commonly recognized as a symbol of peace, while the gun represents violence. These images are usually understood as opposites. Yet at the food stall where I encountered them, both were made from the same batter, cooked on the same griddle, and consumed in exactly the same way. I was deeply fascinated by this scene. Eating is not only a physical act of nourishment; it is also a process of incorporating something into one’s own body, regardless of personal preferences, beliefs, or ideological positions.
Through this work, I explore how the act of eating can create a temporary condition in which values and images that are normally perceived as separate—or even contradictory—come to coexist within the same body.
Presented with pastries shaped as doves and guns, participants are naturally prompted to make choices: Which one should they eat first? Should they share them with someone else? Or eat both equally? There are no correct answers. As people gather around food, personal memories, experiences, and reflections emerge organically through conversation.
Alongside the edible component, I created large-scale inflatable sculptures based on the same dove and gun motifs. A small snack that fits in the palm of a hand and a monumental sculpture that exceeds the scale of the human body share the same imagery while existing at radically different scales.
Through taste, embodiment, and dialogue, the work invites viewers to reconsider whether things that appear fundamentally opposed might, even if only momentarily, coexist within the same body and the same world.

《透過進食改變世界》
本作的靈感來自我在臺灣夜市品嚐鴿子與手槍造型雞蛋糕的經驗。
鴿子象徵和平，槍枝則象徵暴力。它們通常被視為彼此對立的存在，但在那個夜市攤位上，兩者卻由相同的麵糊製成、在同一塊鐵板上烘烤，並以同樣的方式被人們吃下。這樣的景象深深吸引了我。進食不僅是一種滿足生理需求的行為，同時也是將眼前事物納入自身身體之中的過程，超越個人的喜好、思想與立場。
透過本作，我試圖藉由「吃」這個行為，創造一種讓平時分屬不同價值體系與象徵意義的事物，暫時共存於同一具身體之中的狀態。
面對鴿子與手槍造型的點心，參與者會自然地做出各種選擇：先吃哪一個？是否與他人分享？還是將兩者各吃一半？這些選擇並不存在標準答案。在共同享用點心的過程中，每個人的經驗、記憶與想法也會自然而然地被分享出來。
此外，我也將鴿子與槍枝的圖像放大，製作成大型充氣雕塑作品。能夠握於掌心的小小點心，與超越人體尺度的巨大雕塑，雖然擁有截然不同的尺度，卻共享著同一個視覺意象。
透過味覺、身體與對話，本作邀請觀者重新思考那些看似相互對立的事物，是否也可能在某個瞬間，共同存在於同一個世界之中。
「食べることで世界を変える」
本作の着想は、台湾の夜市で鳩と銃の形をした人形焼を食べた体験から生まれました。平和の象徴としての鳩と、暴力を象徴する銃。それらは本来対立するものとして語られますが、その屋台では同じ生地から作られ、同じ鉄板の上で焼かれ、同じように食べられていました。私はその光景に強く惹かれました。食べるという行為は、好き嫌いや思想、立場を超えて、目の前にあるものを身体の中へ取り込む行為でもあります。本作では、食べることを通して、普段は別々に存在している価値観やイメージが、一時的に同じ身体の中に共存する状態をつくり出そうと試みています。
参加者は鳩と銃を模した菓子を前に、自然とどちらから食べるのか、誰かと分け合うのか、あるいは半分ずつ食べるのかといった選択を行います。その選択に正解はありません。おやつを囲む時間のなかで、それぞれの経験や記憶が自然と共有されていきます。
また、鳩と銃のモチーフを巨大化したインフレータブル作品も制作しまし た。手のひらに収まる小さなおやつと、身体を超える巨大な彫刻。それらは異なるスケールを持ちながらも、同じイメージを共有しています。
